Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Vidyora mobile application ("Vidyora", "the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects information when it is used by schools, their staff, students and parents.

In short: Vidyora is a private school-management tool. Accounts are created by your school, not by the public. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

Vidyora is licensed to individual schools. It is not a public sign-up app — every account (admin, teacher, student, parent, or accounts staff) is created and issued by the school's administrator. This policy applies to everyone who logs into Vidyora using those school-issued credentials.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary for a school to run its day-to-day operations. The school provides most of this data when it sets up accounts.

We do NOT collect: your location, your contacts, your browsing history, biometric data, or any data from other apps on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and give you access to the correct role and school
To display attendance, timetable, results, fees and other school records
To send in-app notifications (for example, absence alerts to parents)
To enable chat between members of the same school
To let administrators generate reports for their own school

We never use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale. Vidyora contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

4. Children's Privacy

Vidyora may hold records about students who are minors. This data is entered and controlled by the school acting as the data controller, in the same way a paper register would be. Students do not sign up on their own — accounts are issued by the school. Parents or guardians may contact their school at any time to review or request correction of their child's records.

Vidyora is not directed at children for entertainment purposes and does not knowingly collect data directly from a child outside of the school relationship.

5. How Your Data Is Stored And Secured

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase, on secure cloud infrastructure.
All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard bcrypt hashing — they are never stored as readable text in the authentication system.
Row-Level Security (RLS) is enabled on the database, so a signed-in user can only read data their role is permitted to see.
Access to school data requires a valid, school-issued login.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Data is only shared:

Within your school — according to role (e.g. a teacher can see their class's attendance; a parent can see only their own child).
With our infrastructure provider (Supabase) — purely to host the database and files. They process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
When legally required — if we must comply with a valid legal request from a competent authority.

7. Permissions The App Requests

Internet — required to connect to the school's database.
Storage / Files — only when you choose to upload or download a document. The app cannot browse your files on its own.

8. Data Retention

School records are kept for as long as the school maintains its account with Vidyora, or as long as required by applicable education record-keeping rules. When a school ends its use of Vidyora, its data can be exported and then deleted on request.

9. Your Rights

You may, at any time:

Ask your school administrator to view, correct or update your records
Change your own password from the Profile screen inside the app
Request deletion of your account by contacting your school or us

Because the school is the controller of its own records, requests to view or delete student data should normally go through the school first.

10. Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email us at kartikjattu222@gmail.com from your registered email address, including your name and school name. We will action verified requests within 30 days, subject to any records the school is legally required to retain.

11. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be communicated to school administrators.
